I think I'm the first reviewer for what is apparently a new offering from Baosha, my new favorite travel goods maker! Look at their store and see all they offer, including a travel purse, laptop bag, larger duffel and another style of "weekender" in this same beautiful paisley pattern. In reading reviews of another small duffel bag they offer, it seems as if they heard some suggestions from reviewers and acted on them. For instance, the rust/burnt sienna straps are woven textile, not plastic, so the detachable shoulder strap won't cut into your shoulder. (You may or may not need to get a separate Velcro padded strap cover, depending on how heavy this will be when packed and how much carrying you'll do.) Importantly, the D-rings that you snap the detachable shoulder strap onto are very sturdy and securely sewn on, and the claw-type hardware at the ends of the strap have a swivel feature to keep the strap from getting twisted (a very annoying feature of some older duffels and laptop bags I've owned). There is a "trolley strap" on the back to slide this over the pull-up handle of a rolling suitcase, a very welcome feature. But what makes this most different from similar products is that you can compress or expand the duffel lengthwise by using zippers that go around the entire ends. (Of course you'll lose a little interior space doing that, but that feature could allow you to fit it under the seat or in overhead compartments in smaller aircraft, which you might not be able to do with other duffels/weekenders.) The bag has four "feet" on the bottom. It would be nice to also have a "foot" in the middle as the bottom will sag when you fill this. Recommend you not sit the bag on dirty or wet surfaces. Fabric is a nice sturdy canvas. I got this to replace an older Eddie Bauer duffel that had a plastic lining which no doubt helped make it more water-resistant, but that lining deteriorated, as they will do. This has a fabric lining. (The older bag didn't have the "trolley strap" either, which I never knew I needed until I got tired of bungee-cording the duffel to the rolling suitcase and having it slide right off at the most inopportune times.) To increase water resistance and stain resistance, you may want to spray this bag with Scotchgard or a similar product. This weekender came with a free toiletry bag with a carry handle at one end, which can also be used for shoes, slippers, or things like larger bottles of hair conditioner. The bag is trimmed in the same "vegan leather" (vinyl-type material) as the zipper pulls on the duffel. The zippers have sturdy gunmetal pull hardware. The external zippers have vegan leather pulls, and the interior zipper pull is gunmetal stamped with the Baosha name; zippers may or may not be YKK but they are high-quality. A zippered compartment on the bag of the bag under the trolley strap would be handy for airline tickets. There are two small zippered compartments on the front, and another zippered compartment inside as well as two small open pockets. The side zippered compartments are roomy. This doesn't have a "shoe pocket", but those do cut down on the room you have in the main body of the bag, so you may as well just get some shoe bags (zippered or drawstrings) to put your shoes or slippers in. Note I did not receive anything in return for writing my review. Just FYI, "bao" in Chinese means "bag" (or pouch) (it also refers to dim sum dumplings that are little filled pouches of dough) and "sha" means "what", so I suppose the "Baosha" brand means "What a bag!" And what a bag they do make!I've been using this for years, I love the scent and it moisturizes really wellLove the bag but, zipper broke on first use.I love this bag. Perfect for traveling the pocket extend! The fabric is nice and thick the only thing I would add would be padding on the shoulder strapNot only was it pretty to look at it was so sturdy and strong. This was one of my best buys yet on Amazon.The product is great. Will work for traveling. There is just one thing that needs sent. Two of the zipper pulls are missing. I can hardly pull the zippers. I wonder if that can be sent?This bag surpassed my expectations!It holds so many clothes.Durable and now my favorite.
